Find a scene that stands on its own
Choose a section that makes sense to someone who has not watched the opening. Check the surrounding context: extracting only a conclusion or reaction can change what a speaker meant.
Create expectation in the opening
The opening should connect to what follows. Show a key question or an interesting result, then deliver on that expectation within the video.
Recompose for a vertical screen
Simply enlarging landscape footage can cut off people and explanatory material. Reposition the important subject and rebuild the composition where needed.
Organize captions and rhythm
Even a short video needs time to read. Choose the moments to emphasize and keep the rest simple, rather than stacking too many transitions and text effects.
